Champions League news: PSG eliminate Bayern Munich to set up final against Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain are through to another Champions League final after securing a 1-1 draw away to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, sealing a 6-5 aggregate victory and keeping alive their hopes of defending their European crown against Arsenal.

Protecting a narrow first-leg advantage in Munich, PSG produced a disciplined and controlled display, balancing defensive organisation with moments of attacking threat through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué.

Any early Bayern momentum was quickly silenced when Ousmane Dembélé struck in the third minute, giving the visitors immediate control of the tie.

From there, Luis Enrique’s side shifted into a more measured approach, prioritising structure and game management against one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking teams.

Bayern continued to push throughout the contest, but PSG’s defensive discipline consistently disrupted their rhythm.

Harry Kane eventually found the net in stoppage time, though the late goal only reduced the deficit as Vincent Kompany’s side exited the competition.

Enrique praises defensive resolve

"Good memories. We could leave the match with a lot of intensity,” Enrique told Sky Sports.

“The defence were better than the attack. The character we showed against a team like Bayern is so positive.

“We're so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row.

PSG focused on delivering for supporters

"It was very intense. Very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar, we love to press higher. We are very happy,” Enrique continued.

"In two days I'm going to celebrate my birthday. I'm very happy. We're in the next phase of the competition, the final of the Champions League.

“We want to give our supporters that kind of gift."

Kvaratskhelia turns attention to Arsenal test

Kvaratskhelia acknowledged the scale of the challenge awaiting PSG in the final, with Arsenal standing between the French champions and consecutive European titles.

"We are very proud that we did it again,” Kvaratskhelia told TNT Sports.

“But we have a final and we need to be ready for that game. It will be important for us of course. The best game in our life.

“We will give everything for this cup.

"It will be very difficult, of course, it's a Champions League final so it doesn't matter which team is your opponent.” Kvaratskhelia added, referring to the challenge of Arsenal.

“You just have to go on the pitch."

With attacking quality capable of changing matches instantly and a defense that absorbed sustained pressure in Munich, PSG head into the May 30 final as Arsenal’s most complete test of the season.
