UFC Freedom 250 explained: Date, venue, fight card and why the White House event is historic

UFC Freedom 250 takes place on Sunday, June 14 and is one of the most anticipated events in mixed martial arts history, with the promotion set to host a fight card on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C.

Headlined by a lightweight title unification bout between champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje, the event combines championship fights, superstar names and a unique setting unlike anything previously seen in the UFC.

The card forms part of the United States' America 250 celebrations and has quickly become one of the most talked-about combat sports events of the year.

Why is UFC Freedom 250 historic?

While the UFC has staged events in arenas, stadiums and outdoor venues across the world, Freedom 250 marks the first time the promotion will host an event at the White House.

A temporary arena has been constructed on the South Lawn, creating a unique backdrop for a card featuring multiple title fights and several of the sport's biggest stars.

The event is expected to be one of the most-watched UFC cards of 2026.
