F1 news: Lewis Hamilton secures first Ferrari victory at Spanish Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton secured his first Formula One victory for Ferrari after producing a memorable performance at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona on Sunday.
The seven-time world champion crossed the line ahead of Mercedes' George Russell and McLaren's Lando Norris to finally deliver the breakthrough result he and Ferrari had been pursuing since his blockbuster move to the Scuderia.
The victory marks one of the most significant moments of Hamilton's Ferrari career to date and ends months of speculation surrounding whether the partnership could return the British driver to the top step of the podium.
Hamilton fulfils Ferrari dream
An emotional Hamilton struggled to contain his feelings after taking the chequered flag.
"You've helped me achieve this dream and I can't thank you enough," Hamilton said over team radio.
"Thanks for everyone pushing so hard back at home.
"I'm so proud of you. To my family, I love you. To my fans, thank you for continuing to remind me who I am.
"I couldn't have done this without you."

First year Ferrari struggles
Hamilton later reflected on what the achievement meant after a challenging first year with Ferrari.
"A huge grazie to everyone here.
"My team here at Ferrari, everyone back at the factory. Fred [Vasseur] for believing in me and bringing me to this team.
"I started out a dream which seemed almost impossible during my time last year but we never gave up hope and the team continued to lift me up.
"We made so many changes and we made so many improvements."
A breakthrough moment for Ferrari
Since arriving at Ferrari, Hamilton has spoken openly about his ambition to return the Italian team to championship contention.
The win in Barcelona represents a major step forward in that journey and offers further encouragement that Ferrari's development programme is moving in the right direction.
Hamilton also revealed that racing for Ferrari had long represented one of his greatest ambitions.
"I watched Ferrari have all that success when I was younger, watching it on TV.
"And as I've been racing here, I'd always watched the screens and wondered what it would be like to win in that car - and it's come."
Russell and Norris complete podium
George Russell delivered another strong performance for Mercedes to finish second after benefiting from a late retirement for team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
Antonelli had been running in podium contention before being forced out of the race, a result that could have significant implications in the championship battle.
Lando Norris completed the podium for McLaren in third, while Max Verstappen finished fourth ahead of Oscar Piastri.
