Transfer deadline day round-up: Sunderland, Tottenham, Fulham and Leeds Utd among busiest clubs
The Premier League transfer window closed with a dramatic final day as Sunderland, Tottenham, Fulham, Leeds United and several other clubs completed significant late deals.
Sunderland eventually secured Lyon winger Malick Fofana for £30.8m after an extraordinary tug-of-war with Crystal Palace, while Tottenham brought in Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo and Mykhailo Mudryk on loan.
Fulham strengthened with three additions, Leeds landed Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya and Ipswich Town completed a £20m move for Zian Flemming from Burnley.
Elsewhere, Manchester City signed Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye for £65m and sent Jack Grealish to Everton on loan, while Aston Villa completed deals for Ibrahim Mbaye and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Fofana finally chooses Sunderland after Palace drama
Sunderland's pursuit of Fofana became one of the defining stories of deadline day after Crystal Palace attempted to hijack the deal.
Both clubs reached agreements with Lyon, leaving the 20-year-old winger to choose between the two Premier League sides.
Two private jets were reportedly waiting at Lyon airport, with one bound for the North East and the other for London.
Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus travelled to Lyon to help convince Fofana, who eventually gave the Black Cats the green light shortly after 9.30pm.
The final deal was worth £30.8m, including £25.7m initially and £5.14m in add-ons, before Sunderland submitted a deal sheet to ensure the transfer could be completed.

Spurs reunite Mudryk with De Zerbi
Tottenham were also busy, completing the permanent signing of Tosin from Chelsea for £10m up front plus £2m in add-ons before bringing in Mudryk on loan.
Mudryk described the move as a "great feeling" and said he was excited to be reunited with Roberto De Zerbi, while highlighting his speed and creativity as qualities he hopes to bring to the Tottenham attack.
Leeds turned to Bahoya after missing out on other targets, with the winger arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt on loan and an option to buy for £19.7m plus potentially £4.28m in add-ons.
Bahoya recorded the fastest speed in the Bundesliga last season, giving Leeds another explosive attacking option.
Fulham, Man City, Villa and Newcastle complete late business
Fulham added significant depth with Hugo Larsson arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt for £21m, alongside Real Madrid midfielder Manuel Angel for £3m and Elche defender David Affengruber for £8.5m.
Man City also completed the £65m signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, with the deal consisting of £60m guaranteed and £5m in bonuses.
Jack Grealish subsequently moved in the opposite direction on a season-long loan covering the final year of his Man City contract.
Aston Villa completed a double swoop for PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye and Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis for £47m and £30m respectively, while Newcastle signed Lille winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo for £51m.
Ipswich added Flemming for £20m, while Hull City were among the busiest clubs, completing deals for Ilyas Ansah, Tim Iroegbunam, Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Sorba Thomas.
